The gas pedals in most modern cars connects to the engine via a cable which rides inside of a sheath mounted to the throttle bracket.
Vibration in gas pedal and floor.
For the past couple of weeks i ve noticed a constant vibration in the gas pedal and floor board.
Under normal circumstances vibration in the engine will never reach the pedal because the whole sleeve moves with the engine.
It gives a nice firm feel while applying the pressure however sometimes the vibration in brake pedal occurs when this pedal is deployed.
Causes and how to fix.
Is there any excessive play in the rear axles.
You can feel it with the sole of your foot as it rests on the accelerator pedal but the pedal does not pulsate greatly in the depressing direction of the pedal.
When the pressure is applied by foot on the brake pedal with optimum force the system automatically strives to stop slow the vehicle.
Lack of rigidity in the accelerator cable or linkage.
It s not a strong vibration but it s enough to make it feel like my foot is falling asleep and it makes it very uncomfortable when driving.
It usually happens when the gas engine kicks in.
If you feel the vibration in the floor chances are the problem is in the rear.
Did you check for a bent rim.
More often than not a vibration through the floor or seat is coming from the wheels and tires.
If you rotate the new tires does the problem change.
